Baltic transport ministers meet in Vilnius to discuss the common objectives of the Baltic States

The ministers of communications of the three Baltic States – Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia – are meeting today in the capital of Lithuania. At the annual meeting, the ministers will discuss issues vital for the three countries and for the first time test a driverless car on city streets in Lithuania.

The Prime Ministers’ agreement on “Rail Baltica” has been ratified: by 2026 Tallinn and Warsaw to be linked by train

On 10 October, the Seimas ratified an agreement on the implementation of the “Rail Baltica” project signed by the Prime Ministers of Baltic countries in January. This agreement confirmed the aim to implement the project in 2025 and to start operating the new gauge in 2026.

EC decision leads Lithuanian Railways to strive for minimal negative impact

The state-owned company Lithuanian Railways will conduct a thorough assessment of the decision published today by the European Commission regarding the Rengė stretch, and decide on how to proceed further. Regardless of the decision, however, future activities of the company will be focused on minimising negative impact.
