Airline Company Wizz Air is opening its base in Vilnius and has proposed 8 new routes

“Wishing to attract new airlines Vilnius International Airport has been further working on cost efficiency and pricing improvement. Due to this work the amounts of passengers over the nine latter months in Vilnius grew by 9% - i. e. to 1.1 million people, also the supply of flights was increasing rapidly ”, said Minister Eligijus Masiulis.
 
 Mr. Joseph Varadi, Director General of Wizz Air, said that the company is pleased to announce a significant expansion milestone of Wizz Air. Launching of Vilnius base will enable lots of Lithuanian passengers and visitors from abroad to use low cost flights and enjoy indelible impressions of travelling by the constantly expanding routes of Wizz Air.
 
From Vilnius the Wizz Air will operate flights to Luton Airport in London, Sheffield Doncaster Airport (United Kingdom), Cork (Ireland), Eindhoven (the Netherlands), Stockholm Skavsta Airport (Sweden), Milan Bergamo Airport, Rome Fiumicino Airport (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain).
