Baltic Ministers of Transport discuss the further implementation of Rail Baltica
Rail Baltica railway line is among the strategic transport links of Baltic countries. The European Commission is planning to include it into the main Trans-European Transport Network TEN-T. For the development of the TEN-T Network there is planned a special funding instrument – Connecting Europe Facility, which may give an opportunity for financing of Rail Baltica project.

Basing upon the joint approval of the Prime Ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia expressed on 10 November 2011, the Ministers will discuss the further implementation of Rail Baltica project. Principal agreements are planned to be confirmed by the joint declaration in which the importance of EU funding for the period of 2014-2020 will be underlined.

Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian Ministers are also planning to sign an agreement on the cooperation in the railway transport sector. The objective of the agreement consists in the facilitation of railway transport on the route Tallinn–Riga–Vilnius and improvement of economic cooperation conditions.
