China considers more freight transport via Lithuania
As Mr. Hu Yandong said, due to the large flows of goods between China and Europe, the current situation in transport market should be improved. The strategic aim of China – to increase the amounts of carriage by using regular lines of container trains.  
 
Minister Masiulis introduced to representatives of Chinese Ministry of Railways the Sun train (in Lithuanian “Saulė”) – the train, the operation of which was launched in the end of the last year. Also he presented Lithuanian network of four Public Logistics Centres, opportunities of Klaipėda Seaport, and the progress of Rail Baltica project.   
 
“Lithuania is a new and reliable transit country for Chinese enterprises transporting goods to / from Western Europe. We wish to strengthen our cooperation with China, to increase flows of freight, as this should be beneficial for Lithuanian transport enterprises”, said Minister Masiulis.  
 
Transportation of goods via Lithuania by the Sun train will be in cooperation with Chinese State Company “China Railway Container Transport Corp”.
 
Chinese delegation also visited Lithuanian stand in Shanghai exposition Transport and Logistics. The Lithuanian stand presents opportunities provided by the East-West Transport Corridor.
