Implementation of EU railway legal acts has been discussed

On July 4 specialists of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, State Railway Inspectorate and JSC “Lithuanian Railways” have discussed the issues of implementation of legal acts of the EU first railway package in Lithuania. The meeting was chaired by Liudmila Zumerienė, Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

 

The above-mentioned package of legal acts endorses the licensing of railway enterprises (carriers), it also foresees the measures of adjustment of European Community railways to the common demands of market, as well as the principles of market regulation and public railway infrastructure capacity conferment.  

 

Participant of the meeting discussed further actions, possible ways to solve problems with the view of adequate implementation of the legal acts’ package in Lithuania. European Commission will be comprehensively informed about the implementation of the legal acts.
