“Let’s safeguard each other on roads”, the joint project of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Church and the Police will be going on this year as well

Eligijus Masiulis, Minister of Transport and Communications, together with Sigitas Tamkevičius, Archbishop of Kaunas, President of Lithuanian Bishops’ Conference, Vizgirdas Telyčėnas, Lithuanian Police Commissioner General, and Virgaudas Puodžiukas, Director General of Lithuanian Road Administration, signed an agreement confirming that the project “Let’s safeguard each other on roads” will be continued in this year. The project will be implemented all over Lithuania.

“In 2009, together with representatives of the Church and the Police we were implementing the project “Let’s safeguard each other on roads” at Kaunas Archbishopric. We achieved very good results, therefore now we agreed to continue the project and extend it in the whole Lithuania”, said Minister Masiulis.

During the implementation of the project Catholic priests and Police representatives will educate people regarding the importance of traffic safety, and inform about the dangers of speed limit exceeding and drunk driving.
