Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications meets the Ministers of Transport of Turkey and Russia

While participating at the international transport forum “Transport and energy: challenges of the climate change”, Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications Mr. Algirdas Butkevičius met with Ministers of Transport of Turkey and Russia. They discussed relevant to Lithuaniatransport infrastructure development issues.

 

At the meeting of Lithuanian and Turkish Transport Ministers opportunities of bilateral cooperation were discussed in regard to the development of transport corridor by the route from the Baltic Sea to the Black Seawith the employment of the international Lithuanian, Belorussian and Ukrainian project – combined transport container train “Viking”. The Ministers discussed the opportunities of holding an international conference regarding the development of the “Viking” project partners.   

 

Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications Mr. Algirdas Butkevičius has also met with Russian Minister of Transport Mr. Igor Levitin. The Ministers of both countries agreed on the necessity of developing bilateral Lithuanian and Russian relations in the field of transport, and particularly the perspectives of cooperation in road and railway transport sector.
