New Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Communications

Rimvydas Gradauskas started his duties as the new Secretary of the Ministry as from 24 October. On 7 October, he won the competition to fill in the post of the Secretary of the Ministry. Mr. Gradauskas will be responsible for the areas of roads, road transport and traffic safety. 

Rimvydas Gradauskas was born in 1955. In 1978, he graduated from Vilnius Engineering Institute and in 1994 he completed MA studies at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University acquiring the specialities of road and environment engineer.

After Lithuania re-established its independence, Mr. Gradauskas worked as the Head of the Science and Technology Board of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. From 1991 he was the Technical Director and Deputy Director General of the Lithuanian Road Administration. In 1994 – 1997, he was the Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Mr. Gradauskas was twice appointed Vice-Minister of Transport and Communications – in 1996-1997 and in 2000-2001. In 1997-2001 he was elected President of the Lithuanian National Road Carriers’ Association Linava.

In recent years Rimvydas Gradauskas was President of the Lithuanian Roads Association.
