For many years already this day of commemoration is being celebrated together with Lithuanian Catholic Church. On the third Sunday of November the Masses for people perished in road accidents are celebrated in churches all over Lithuania.

“Statistics indicates an obvious progress in saving human lives on roads. This year Lithuania was awarded the prize of European Transport Safety Council for good results achieved in the improvement of traffic safety during the latter period of ten years. However it does not mean that roads in Lithuania are safe – we still have to make efforts to improve the situation”, said Eligijus Masiulis, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania.
