Over the last 12 months Vilnius airport reached record passenger numbers
The most passengers during the last 12 months were transported through Vilnius airport by low cost airlines – Ryanair and Wizz Air, 18 percent each, a further 9 percent of the market each was taken by Small Planet Airlines, Lufthansa and AirBaltic airlines, and 6 percent – by Scandinavian Airlines. The most popular destination countries from Vilnius airport were Germany, the United Kingdom, Latvia, Italy, Denmark, Ireland, Russia, Spain and Turkey.
“An especially active growth in passenger flow began in last year’s April and is lasting up to now”, says VIA general director Tomas Vaišvila. According to him, these successful results are influenced both by the successful actions of traditional airlines, and the growing demand for low cost airline flights.

According to T. Vaišvila, the leadership of VIA is constantly looking for ways to optimize their activities and reduce costs. During the nine months of 2012, costs were reduced to the point that allows the projected end of year to be profitable. A strategic action plan is currently being developed in which a positive result is anticipated in 2013-2015 as well.

Vilnius airport is planned to further expand aviation and nonaviation activities and to increase their income by applying pricing attractive to airlines and making use of the greater passenger flow.
You can currently take 36 regular directions to 29 cities by 43 routes, regular flights performed by 18 airlines.
