State Information Resources Interoperability Platform – success in Europe
The best practice examples demonstrating the experience of advanced EU Member States were selected by the representatives of EC and presented at the workshop. Here, the SIRIP platform coordinated by the Information Society Development Committee under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania was recognized as one of the best practice in the field of eGovernment services solution.
 
The platform enabling to reduce the expenses and time of the public sector attracted high interested of the representatives of the EC and other parties. Rather than establishing new solutions separately, the public administrations can use SIRIP components, and not build or procure services that are already offered in SIRIP.
 
Under Digital Agenda, the workshop aimed provide the guidance on the link between IT Standardization and Public Procurement in order to help public authorities use standards to promote efficiency and reduce lock-in.
