On September 18, during “Innotrans – 2012”, one of the largest world transport fairs, “Lietuvos geležinkeliai” general director Stasys Dailydka and Poland‘s “Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz” board members Zygfryd Žurawski and Robert Swiechowicz  have signed a contract for 3 two-car diesel trains to be operated in the Vilnius-Klaipėda as well as Vilnius-Minsk (until the eletrification project for this route finishes) routes.
 
This is the fourth cooperation agreement between Lithuania and Poland and the first project to be producing diesel passenger trains going at 140 km/h for 1520 mm tracks.
 
The trains will be fitted with a video monitoring system, air conditioning, comfortable seats, electric lifts for people with disability, two vacuum toilets (one of prepared for use by people in wheelchairs movement disabilities).
 
The diesel engines of the new passenger trains will conform to the highest exhaust fume emission Euro Stage III B environmental requirements.
 
Passengers are planned to be able to try out the advantages of the new trains onwards from the end of May 2013.
