Transport Relations between Lithuanian and Moldavian Transport Specialists Are Further Developed

On 26 April, a meeting of Lithuanian and Moldavian mixed road transport taskforce commenced analysing cooperation issues relevant to carries of both countries.

According to Head of Lithuanian delegation and Director of Roads and Road Transport Department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications Šarūnas Baublys, the members of the joint taskforce exchanged the statistical information on results of cooperation of Lithuanian and Moldavian transport specialists for 2006, on the basis of which travel permit quotas for cargo carrying were set.

Participants of the meeting agreed to the suggestion to accelerate the Lithuanian and Moldavian intergovernmental agreement on amendment of international passenger and cargo transportation procedures. These intentions are related to applicable taxation for utilization of roads by means of transport.

During the meeting, parties shared important information related to cargo and passenger transportation via international routs.
