Minister Skuodis arrives in Saudi Arabia for a working visit

Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis arrives in Saudi Arabia for a week-long working visit, where he will discuss opportunities for closer cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics with Saudi ministers, officials and business representatives, and will also attend the Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union in Riyadh.

During his visit on 1–5 October, Minister Marius Skuodis is scheduled to meet with Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport, Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, Ajlan bin Abdulaziz Al Ajlan, Chairman of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The delegation led by Minister Skuodis will also visit the King Abdullah Seaport, Jeddah Seaport and meet the leadership of the King Abdullah Economic City.

Together with Algis Latakas, Director General of Klaipėda State Seaport Authority, Minister Skuodis will present Lithuania’s transport sector and its opportunities, they will also invite their Saudi counterparts to jointly develop transport links and cooperation in the fields of maritime transport, air transport and logistics.

In addition, Minister Skuodis will attend the Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will meet with Secretary General Masahiko Metoki, and will take part in a panel discussion on the sustainability of the postal sector.

During his stay in Saudi Arabia, the Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications also intends to meet with Dr. Shlomo Karhi, the Israeli Minister of Communications, and representatives of the Lithuanian community in Saudi Arabia.
