The Ministry of Transport and Communications welcomes the new Minister - Jaroslav Narkevič

After approval of a newly appointed members of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Jaroslav Narkevič, the Minister of Transport, enters into office. Today, the new Minister was introduced in the Ministry of Transport by the Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.

“After the renewal of the 17th Government and obtaining mandate to act, the changes have occurred and the Minister of Transport and Communications has been replaced. The Minister Rokas Masiulis has previously received a lot of acknowledgment. A lot of inevitable works were done, perhaps difficult, but necessary. The foundation is firmly laid, and with only one and a half years remaining, the new Minister must be creative and have visible, clear and positive results. I would like to wish that the creativity would be productive and intelligent, so that every person, no matter where he or she lives – in the capital, Klaipeda, Kaunas, or somewhere in the area, may feel its results”, said the Prime Minister S. Skvernelis.

Mr. Narkevič, who is taking up on duty of the Minister, has thanked Mr. Skvernelis for his confidence, as well as said he will strive for stability and will look forward to finishing works that are left for the upcoming year.

“The space of politics is such that change is inevitable.  We will strive to ensure the continuity and stability of our actions. Everything is clearly laid down in the Government’s program and in your plans. I hope for your support and productive cooperation in the name of our state”, said Mr. Narkevič after meeting with the staff.

Mr. Narkevič, the new Minister of Transport and Communications, has a Master's degree in Public Administration that was awarded to him in Mykolas Romeris University. Since 2008, he is a member of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, elected for a third term.
