What is EU structural assistance?

The structural assistance of the European Union consistently reduces social and economic differences between EU member states and regions. Its core values may be expressed in two words: “solidarity” and “cohesion”. Solidarity stands for the objective to assist regions at lower social and economic development level comparing to EU average.

Cohesion means that reduction of economic and social shortfall among EU member states is beneficial for everyone. 1/3 of the EU budget is dedicated to this policy.
