All crew members arriving in Lithuania and staying longer than 72 hours will have to perform a COVID-19 test
As of 29 March, all crew members performing international commercial carriage by all modes of transport whose period of stay in Lithuania exceeds 72 hours will have to present a document (in one of the official EU languages) proving a COVID-19 test performed not earlier than 72 hours prior to returning to Lithuania (a serological antibody test result shall not be accepted) or to register for a test via a 24/7 Coronavirus Hotline number 1808 or with another institution performing COVID-19 tests and to perform a test at a designated time. Upon registering via the hotline tests are performed free of charge at mobile testing points.
If for some specific reasons a person staying in Lithuania fails to perform a test upon expiration of the 72-hour period, he or she must register via the Coronavirus hotline within 24 hours.
This decision was adopted by the State Commander of National Emergency Operations in order to stop the spread of dangerous coronavirus strains.
The above requirements shall not apply to crew members performing passenger carriage via international routes by all modes of transport if they are returning or arriving to Lithuania via international passenger carriage routes by regular, special or charter trips (by all modes of transport).
Heads of international commercial carriers will have to inform their employees staying in Lithuania longer than 72 hours on this requirement.
The requirement to perform a coronavirus test only in cases of staying in Lithuania longer than 72 hours has been introduced with the aim to maintain the so-called green corridor and to avoid hindering the access of essential goods and transit.
