Minister Taminskas To Discuss Transport Security And Resilience At The Informal Meeting Of EU Transport Ministers
Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania, Juras Taminskas, will attend the Informal Meeting of EU Transport Ministers in Dublin on Monday, where discussions will focus on the energy security and resilience of the transport sector.
“Ensuring that Europe’s transport system remains resilient to both energy and security challenges is a key priority. As hybrid threats become increasingly prevalent, the European Union must continue to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure and reinforce the resilience of transport networks,” says Minister Taminskas.
EU transport ministers will also discuss how the development of new technologies and autonomous vehicles can contribute to road safety.
In Dublin, Minister Taminskas will hold talks with the transport ministers of Latvia and Estonia on the progress of the Rail Baltica project, the transit of Russian and Belarusian grain, and other issues of common interest. The visit will also include a number of bilateral meetings, as well as a meeting with representatives of the Lithuanian community in Ireland.
The Informal Meeting of EU Transport Ministers is being hosted by Ireland, which currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU. Lithuania will take over the Presidency on 1 January 2027.
