Passengers arriving in Lithuania from abroad are asked to carefully fill in questionnaires related to COVID–19
The Ministry of Transport and Communications reminds passengers arriving in Lithuania from abroad to carefully fill in the electronic questionnaires specified by the National Public Health Centre (NPHC), provide correct data therein, as well as obtain a valid result of a test for COVID–19 before traveling. This will help officials at airports and at the seaport to speed up the enhanced screening of passengers, which is conducted at the points of entry to the country in order to prevent the spread of strains of the virus.
As of 8 February, there are reinforced checkpoints at the international airports in Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga and passenger terminals at the Port of Klaipėda. NPHC specialists and officers of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) who work here check passengers’ documents – completed NPHC questionnaires for collecting information about the passenger for public health purposes and the results of diagnostic tests for the COVID–19 disease (coronavirus infection) obtained by passengers as well as the time of their performance. All passengers arriving in the country must pass through these checkpoints before leaving the airports or the seaport.
Special NPHC questionnaires are available for passengers arriving by any mode of transport. The passenger who submits the electronic questionnaire specified by the NPHC receives a confirmation of the completion of such questionnaire – the so-called QR (Quick Response) code, which must be provided to the inspection officers. In exceptional cases, if for any reason the passenger has arrived without filling in the questionnaire, he or she may fill it in at the airports and self-service terminals at the seaport.
All passengers are requested to complete the NPHC questionnaires before or during the journey, to obtain the QR code mentioned above, to prepare all documents for inspection and to submit them in an orderly manner to the officials working at the checkpoints. This will allow for a smoother passenger screening procedure and save their own time.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications reminds arriving passengers to anticipate that additional screening procedures will inevitably require more time. The passengers are also asked for their understanding and to prepare for screening in advance, thus helping to reduce the duration of screening.
