Minister Skuodis is going to the United States to meet with the Secretary of Transportation and participate in the North American Lithuanian Business Forum

Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis begins a working visit to the United States on Monday, where he will meet with Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, United Nations Under-Secretary-General Guy Ryder, members of the U.S. Congress and other senior officials, and attend the second North American Lithuanian Business Forum.

During the visit on 5-9 June, the Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications will also have meetings with the management of the Port of New York, which is connected to Klaipėda by a direct shipping line, congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, representatives of the Atlantic Council, Center for European Policy Analysis and other influential think tanks, and the Lithuanian American Community.

At the North American Lithuanian Business Forum in Chicago, Minister Skuodis will attend the forum sessions and speakers’ discussions, as well as meet the heads of U.S. business companies that have already invested in our country or are looking for a potential niche and partners for their business in Lithuania, and will present our country’s transport sector and its opportunities.

The North American Lithuanian Business Forum, which will be held for the second time, is the most important event to promote economic and business relations between the United States and Lithuania. In 2022, it attracted more than 200 representatives of organisations developing political, business and economic relations between Lithuania, the United States and Canada.
