Minister Skuodis to discuss cooperation and the development of transport with the French Minister of Transport, will meet with the head of the OECD
On 21-22 March, Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis will visit Paris, where he will be meeting with French Transport Minister Clément Beaune to discuss the implementation of military mobility and other strategic infrastructure connections with Europe, as well as the development of innovation and digitisation in the transport and logistics sector. In Paris, the minister will also meet with Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
During the meeting, the Lithuanian and French transport ministers will discuss direct flights between the countries and expansion of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), which the Via Baltica and Rail Baltica strategic projects are a part of, as well as the need to increase European funding for dual-use – military and civilian – mobility links with Europe and Ukraine.
The ministers will also talk about sustainable transport, the development of electromobility and alternative fuels infrastructure, and cooperation as Lithuania implements the transport innovation sandbox programme.
During his visit to Paris, Minister Skuodis plans to meet with the heads of Air France and the OECD, representatives of the rail transport and automotive industry.
His schedule also includes a visit to Haropa, the French river and sea shipping complex that is the fourth largest port in Northern Europe.
