Lithuania and Kazakhstan to be connected by regular direct flights next year
It is planned to launch regular flights between Lithuania and Kazakhstan next year. This is established in the joint Letter of Intent, which was signed on 12 October in Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan during a visit of the Lithuanian delegation.
The planned routes of direct flights are Vilnius–Nur-Sultan–Vilnius and Vilnius–Almaty–Vilnius.
“As we are arranging and complementing the map of flights from Lithuania, Kazakhstan is among our most important directions in Asia due to its economic relations with Lithuania,” says Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis.
The Letter of Intent was signed by taking into account the importance of direct air connection for closer cooperation between the two countries.
The final decision regarding such flights will be taken by Kazakhstan’s Interdepartmental Commission that manages the issues related to controlling the coronavirus pandemic.
