Opportunity Passport is now available at all Lithuanian Post offices
Today, Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis and Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė were the first to try out the new paper Opportunity Passport withdrawal service at the Lithuanian Post Office in the centre of Vilnius. From this Thursday, citizens can print Opportunity Passports free of charge at all Lithuanian Post offices.
"As long as the Opportunity Passport allows us to live freely and without restrictions to the extent that is possible during the pandemic, the availability of this passport to the population is a key issue. Our common goal is to make the Opportunity Passport accessible to the widest possible group of people. Therefore, I am glad that the initiative of the Ministries of Transport and Communications and the Economy and Innovation and Lithuanian Post enabled quick coordination and implementation of solutions allowing to print the Opportunity Passport at all Lithuanian Post offices from Thursday,” says Minister Skuodis.
Citizens wishing to print the Opportunity Passport at post offices will have to present an identity document. After presenting the identity document, the post office staff will connect to the Opportunity Passport system on behalf of the resident and print the document.
“Today, we already have more than a thousand locations all over Lithuania where you can print a paper Opportunity Passport. I thank Lithuanian Post for joining this project. We believe that we have properly prepared for 13 September when people will need the Opportunity Passport more often,” said Minister of the Economy and Innovation A. Armonaitė.
The Opportunity Passport can already be withdrawn free of charge at pharmacies, Sodra terminals, branches of the Centre of Registers, it can also be downloaded independently on the website gpasas.lt. In addition, the mobile team of the Centre of Registers intends to continue visits to municipalities where there are no branches of the Centre of Registers.
According to the Government, the Opportunity Passport in Lithuania has already been withdrawn by more than a million citizens.
